SLABTOWN FOUR

Slabtown 4 is a thoughtfully designed four-unit residence that maximizes the potential of a compact urban lot while addressing the diverse needs of a multi-generational family. Combining modern design elements with a deep respect for the neighborhood's historic character, this project by Scott Edwards Architecture exemplifies successful urban infill. The homeowners—a brother and sister caring for aging parents and supporting families of their own—sought a solution that included two single-family townhouse units and two accessory dwelling units (ADUs), each featuring dedicated outdoor spaces and parking. Located in Portland’s vibrant Northwest neighborhood, the design accommodates three units for family living, with the fourth serving as a flexible space for a home office or a rental property to generate additional income.
